Michael

MICHAEL JEFFRIES – General Manager

Michael joined WX as General Manager of WX Bottling in late 2014, and is responsible for all aspects of winemaking and bottling operations at the Carneros facility. After building a successful career within the high tech industry at General Manager and Director level positions with an emphasis in operations and supply chain management, Michael made the transition to the wine industry in 2003. He held positions as Director of Operations at Signature Wines for four years, Sr. Director of Operations at Adler Fels Winery for five years, and most recently as the General Manager of Geyser Peak Winery for over two years.

Angel

ANGEL FERNANDEZ – Bottling Manager

As Bottling Manager, Angel is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the WX Bottling facility. Angel secured his career in the wine industry as Production Enologist at Gloria Ferrer Winery for seven years, while he also attended UC Davis and earned his BS in Fermentation Science. Angel next spent a year at BR Cohn, then three harvests as Assistant Winemaker at Cline Cellars. Angel has managed the WX Bottling line operations since 2012.

Matt

MATT SHUPLOCK – Associate Winemaker

Matt joined WX Bottling in March 2015 and is our full-time, onsite Associate Winemaker. He is responsible for overseeing the production of all wines coming into WX Bottling through our Alternating Proprietorship relationship with Carneros Vintners. Matt oversees all aspects of the winemaking process from grape to bottle. He earned a BS from UC Davis in Biotechnology, with an emphasis in Microbiology. After college, Matt spent 5 years at Robert Mondavi Winery as Quality Control Technician, eventually being promoted to Enologist. He then joined Folio Fine Wine Partners as the Production Manager for Michael Mondavi Family Estate winery and custom crush services. Prior to joining WX Bottling, Matt was the Associate Winemaker for Kieu Hoang Winery.
